Rose leaves card - step by step

Today's card is my first try with printed and cut out rose leaves. Turned out to be really pretty, so I shall use this again.

My card base is 10 x 7 inches or 25cm x 18cm that is fold in the middle. Next I cut two more white card stock pieces - the middle one is 11,5cm x 15,5cm and the center one is 10cm x 14cm. I also cut two slightly bigger (around 0.5mm) pieces of lemon cream card stock to create the layers.  All of those pieces then got their corners rounded :)

Next thing I did was to emboss the centerpiece with my favorite brick embossing folder (and while doing so I managed to break one of my acrylic plates... :) ) and then heat embossed it with white powder just to create some texture.

Then I temporary attached together the two lemon cream pieces of card stock and embossed the edges with gold embossing powder and some flower stamps. After done with all that I glued the white card stock on top of the corresponding lemon and then the two pieces I was left with got attached to the card base with double face - for dimensional look.

The next step was to cut the embellishments. For this card I printed out some rose leaves and traced them carefully with the x-acto knife and distressed the edges with green ink, to hide the white imperfections

.

The "with love" greetings were cut twice - the first time from regular lemon card stock and the second - from craft foam to again make it more dimensional. Then just glued the card stock on top of the foam.

Last - I die cut a small butterfly ( with my spare acrylic plate :) ) and made a few circles with thread, that i secured in place with simple knot. That's a little trick I use to add texture to my flowers.

What's left was to assemble the whole thing together and add some pearls like so:

And there it is - my finished card.

Hope you like it!
:)
